AA Pet Insurance Review.

Rising veterinary costs can make a trip to the vet a costly one, so insuring your cat or dog is therefore a sensible move. With pet insurance from the AA, you are also covered for most types of damage or injury your pet might cause another person.

AA Pet Insurance gives you a choice of 3 levels of pet insurance cover. Bronze, Silver & Gold.

Many pet insurers limit cover for ongoing conditions for only 12 months. At the AA they recognise that some illnesses may go on beyond that, maybe even for the rest of the pets life. Their policy will continue to cover your pet, up to the policy limit, for ongoing claims subject to cover remaining in force and payment of premium. The AA also offer something different with their pet co-insurance-In return for a discount to your premium you can opt for Co-Insurance. This means that you simply pay 10% of the total claim in respect of veterinary claims only. This is subject to a minimum contribution (Please refer to the policy wording). AA Pet insurance also offers you the choice of paying your per insurance premium monthly or annually.

The cover for vet fees on the AA policy is cover up to £1,000 under Bronze, £3,000 under Silver and £5,000 under Gold. (Cover is provided on a per incident basis). Many insurers limit payments for ongoing conditions to the first 12 months only. The AA will continue to cover conditions without a time limit and, up to the policy limit, subject to cover remaining in force.

If your pet dies as a result of an accident, or from injury or illness. AA cover up to £250 on Silver and £750 on Gold policies. This section does not apply in the case of Dogs that are 9 or more years old and cats that are 11 or more years old.

If your pet is lost or stolen, AA pet insurance shall pay for local advertising and offer a reward. (Cover is up to £250 on Silver and £750 on Gold) Theft or Straying If your pet is not recovered in spite of the advertising and reward they will reimburse the purchase price up to £250 on Silver and £750 on Gold.
