Chorley Building Society made a loss after tax of  £1,494,461. This was after a provision of £161,000 for the fscs levy and £2,042,801 on losses through exposure to landsbanki. Provisions for other bad and doubtful debts was £345,000 (2007 £95,096).   13 mortgages were 6 months or more in arrears at the year end. The average loan to value of the mortgage book was less than 39%. One property was in possession at the year end.   Share balances grew 6.66% during the year.
