Financial Results for year ended 06/02/2012
Chorley Building Society made a profit after tax of £573,334 as against a profit of £647,188 the previous year. This was after a provision of £79,517 for the fscs levy. Provisions for other bad and doubtful debts were £63,810 (2010 £68,585).
There were 16 cases at the year end of mortgages that were 12 months or more in arrears with the total amount of the arrears £138,000. There were no properties in possession at the year end. The society still retains a £2,000,000 exposure to Landsbanki a failed Icelandic Bank. The debt has been fully provided for and they do not anticipate any recovery of this amount this year. 

The average loan to value on the mortgage book was 43.86%

Chorley Building Society made a profit after tax of £528,129 as against a loss of £1,494,461 the previous year. This was after a provision of £17,715 for the fscs levy. Provisions for other bad and doubtful debts was £181,353 (2008 £345,000).
13 mortgages were 6 months or more in arrears at the year end although overall arrears were lower than the year before. The average loan to value of the mortgage book was less than 39%. One property was in possession at the year end.
Share balances grew 2.00% during the year.

Chorley Building Society made a loss after tax of  £1,494,461. This was after a provision of £161,000 for the fscs levy and £2,042,801 on losses through exposure to landsbanki. Provisions for other bad and doubtful debts was £345,000 (2007 £95,096).
13 mortgages were 6 months or more in arrears at the year end. The average loan to value of the mortgage book was less than 39%. One property was in possession at the year end.
Share balances grew 6.66% during the year.
