Debenhams plc made a headline profit £166.1 million and gross
transaction revenue was £2,679.3 million.
At the end of the year they had 160 stores
with 163 in the UK & Ireland and during the year they opened Bath in September 2010, Wakefield in May 2011 and Fareham
in June 2011. One yew store will open in 2012 followed by Chesterfield in 2013, and nearly 30 more possible new Debenhams
stores are under discussion.
Online Sales increased by 73.8% to £180.4 million with like for like
sales increasing by 71.9%.
New ranges launched in the year included Edition,
New range by Julien Macdonald, Diamond in womenswear and J J Jeans by Jasper Conran in menswear.
