Blue +Price Promise September 2013 is a great deal. We’re so confident of this; we’ll let you know if any supplier has tariff that’s more than £1 cheaper per week, based on typical usage.  Because it’s a fixed tariff, you’ll see no price rises until at least September 2013. It’s low carbon too, meaning that all electricity is matched with electricity generated from a low carbon source - nuclear power†. Typical usage is: 3,300 kWh electricity and 16,500 kWh gas per year. Low-carbon electricity purchased for Blue is supplied into the National Grid. Blue customers receive electricity via the National Grid, not directly from low-carbon generators. EDF Energy is owned by the French state-owned EDF SA and was created in 2002 following the acquisition and mergers of SEEBOARD Plc, London Electricity Plc and SWEB Energy Plc. In 2009, EDF Energy took over the UK nuclear generator British Energy. This made EDF Energy the UK's largest generator as well as the largest distribution network operator.
