Mansfield Building Society Financial Results year ended 31st December 2008
|
The Mansfield Building Society Group made a profit after tax of £148,000 as against £533,000
the year before. This is after a provision of £470,000 for their contribution to the FSCS Levy over the next 3 years.
Interestingly they have chosen to account for the whole 3 years now while other building societies have only accounted for
the first year. Over the last 5 years Mansfield Building
Society has only had to repossess one property and almost all their mortgage book is less than 75% loan to value. Interesting to see the Chief Executive commenting that he would not be surprised
by further consolidation in the sector and the demise of the Dunfermline Building Society has since proved hin right. During the year Mansfield Building Society made 586 new residential mortgages and
as of the 31/12/2008 there were 2 mortgage cases where repayments were 12 months or more in arrears. Share balances increased
by £12.4 million during the year.
