About Screwfix
Screwfix were founded in
1979 and were bought by Kingfisher plc (in 1999) who are Europe’s leading home improvement retail group and the third
largest in the world, with over 830 stores in eight countries in Europe and Asia. Its main retail brands are B&Q, Castorama, Brico Dépôt and Screwfix in 1999.
The group made a profit after tax of £547 million
for 2009/2010. Screwfix limited
made sales of £471 helped by the roll out of trade counters and the new ‘Plumbfix’ and ‘Electricfix’
specialist mail order catalogues.
Nine trade counters were opened during the year, taking the total to 147. Almost 60% of total scewfix sales are now generated
from these physical outlets.
Screwfix Direct is the
UK’s largest direct and online supplier of tools and hardware products catering for the trade and those serious about DIY.
Fully committed to customer care and support, Screwfix Direct is the UK’s leading mail order and online
business for the supply of screws, fixings, tools, showers, bathrooms, flooring, wardrobes, power tools, lighting and
accessories. With over 17,000 products across a range of trades, screwfix sell everything from nuts and bolts to belt sanders,
from sealants and adhesives to fluorescent lighting, drills and hammers, plasterers’ bead, fixings, loft ladders and
even kitchen sinks.
Screwfix offers of over 18,000 stock lines and supplies brands including Rotary, Big Bear,
