Thomson Holidays are the UK arm of TUI travel. Founded as part of the Thomson Travel Group in 1965 following the acquisition of three travel agencies and the airline Britannia Airways. Thomson.co.uk offers access to great value holidays, hotels, villas and apartments direct from the UK's No1 supplier of package holidays. Thomson.co.uk is one of the most visited travel websites in the country. In 2007 Thomson Holidays merged with the tour operator First Choice.

The size of the UK arm that includes Thomson and First Choice is enormous as they serve 7.5 million holidaymakers, have 19,000 staff and have as many as 880 travel shops in the UK. Thomson Airways flies from 21 UK airports and TUI Travel PLC is the words biggest holiday company carrying over 30 million passengers a year and has a fleet of 150 aircraft.

Thonson is a member of both ABTA and ATOL.

Thomson Holidays are part of the TUI group who buy over 150 million bednights per year, making them one of the largest distributors of accommodation globally. They operate in over 180 countries with more than 30 million customers. TUI Travel is headquartered in the UK and employs approximately 49,000 people. Fir the year TUI had revenues of £13,525 million and profit before tax of £337 million. During the year for UK customers Sensatori Tenerife was opened following the successful introduction of this five-star concept in Crete and Mexico over the last two years and the First Choice Holiday Villages’ portfolio was also expanded by two further Holiday Villages.
