The AA is traditional associated with breakdown cover but also supplies financial services. The AA (Automobile Association) was set up in 1905. The AA started doing insurance in 1967. AA Insurance is the UK's largest motor insurance company. In 1999 the AA was bought by Centrica who then sold it in 2004 for £1.75 billion to CVC and Permira who are private equity firms.

AA Product Range

AA Financial Services provides savings accounts including internet savings accounts and fixed rate bonds. Insurance offerings includes car, home, travel, life, van, caravan and motorcycle. The AA also provides loans and credit cards. The AA is covered under the fscs through Birmingham Midshires/Bank of Scotland so the limit of £85,000 is for the combined total of deposits invested with these organisations. Your monthly premium is guaranteed for the policy term, provided premiums are paid when due. The policy has no cash in value at any time.

AA Credit Cards.

The card offers reward points on all purchases and as the ‘motorist’s credit card’, it offers double reward points on motoring purchases including fuel, even from supermarkets. AA Members earn points twice as fast and can use them to take 1% cash back on fuel purchased on the card.
